HOODLY for businesses
This page is for businesses: what Hoodly does, what kind of deal fits the platform, and how to join. If something stays open, ask us — the contact details are at the end of the page.
What a business gets
Hoodly brings customers into quiet hours. An empty table, an unbooked chair, an hour that goes unsold — none of it comes back. Hoodly makes those hours visible to people nearby while the time is still there to use.
This is not a sale. A deal is a find for the customer and a barker for you: it brings someone through the door at a moment that would otherwise have passed. Hoodly never frames a deal as a percentage or a markdown, anywhere in the product.
How to join
Fill in the form at the end of this page and tell us briefly about your business: what it is, where it is, and which hours are quietest for you. We will get in touch and go through the rest with you. You can also write to info@hoodly.fi.
We set up the business and its deals for you. You say what you want to offer and when, and we put it on the platform. There is no tool to learn and nothing for you to publish yourself.
What kind of deal fits the platform
A deal is something the customer collects in person at your venue. It has two times: the claim window, during which the deal can be claimed, and the redemption deadline, by which a claim has to be collected at the venue.
You can cap the number of places if a quiet hour only holds so many customers. The cap is optional — a deal can stay open to as many people as manage to claim it while the claim window lasts.
Every deal recurs. If Tuesday afternoon is always quiet, the same deal can be published every Tuesday on its own. When we set it up, we configure any dates it should skip. You can take a deal published for a specific day offline yourself; if you need the recurring deal completely offline, contact us.
A deal can also run every day and all day. That suits stock a customer can pick up whenever you are open, not a service that would need someone present at any hour.
Which fields the service fits
Hoodly fits a business with a physical venue and quiet hours to fill. What decides it is not the trade but that the offer is collected in person and that the quiet hour would otherwise be lost.
Hoodly starts in Helsinki with a small set of businesses and is not tied to particular fields: the pilot exists precisely to find out which ones it works best for. So do ask about your own field.
What does not fit the platform
Not everything fits, though:
- Online shopping or delivery. A deal is always collected in person, so an offer that is not picked up at the venue does not work on Hoodly.
- A benefit that is not claimed each time. Every deal is claimed for one visit and collected by that day's deadline. A loyalty card or a standing, always-valid benefit does not work that way.
- Markdown framing. We do not publish percentages or struck-out prices. We say what the customer gets and at what price.
If you are unsure whether something fits, ask. We go through every deal with you before it is published.
What happens at the counter
The customer claims the deal in the app and gets a claim code of their own. When they arrive, they say they claimed a deal and show the code.
Your staff have Hoodly's own app, which shows the arrivals list: who is coming and what they claimed. The code is either scanned as a QR code or keyed in as eight digits, and the redemption confirms right away. There is nothing new to learn.
Payment
The customer pays at the venue with your own payment methods. Nothing is paid in Hoodly and a claim is not a payment, so the counter works exactly as it did before.
